How do I create a group discussion?
A group discussion is different than a regular discussion, because it is only visible to the teacher and students that are part of the group. A Topic is a place where you can post messages and read within a forum. A Thread is a place where you post your main message that others can respond to.
Click on the bar on ‘Tools’ and then ‘Discussions’. If no previous discussions have been created, click on ‘New Topic’ under the button ‘New’ on the ‘Discussions’ homepage. If previous discussions have been created, this step can be skipped. On the Discussions Homepage you can now find the different discussions and themes. Click under ‘Discussion’, ‘Topic’ or ‘Week’ on the discussion where you want to start a groups discussion. In the example this is Q&A. Click on ‘Start a New Thread’ if you want to write your main message.
First, select your own group. Then, fill in a subject. Fill in the text. Thereafter, click on ‘Add attachments’. Finally, click on ‘Upload’ to add the file.
You can also record audio of video or upload a file from within Brightspace. Lastly, click on ‘Post’.
