How do I install restrictions for a quiz?

Both during and after publishing a quiz, it is possible to set certain restrictions, such as the times when a quiz is available and the maximum number of attempts allowed.

In the top yellow bar, navigate to ‘Tools’ > ‘Quizzes’.Select the relevant quiz here that you want to add restrictions to.This will bring up a screen that looks something like the image below. The four boxes on the right show all possible restrictions. These will now be briefly explained, from top to bottom.

1. Availability Dates & Conditions: here you can enter the start and end dates of the availability of the quiz. There are also some other ways to limit availability for certain groups or individual students. By adding a release condition, students can only view the quiz if they meet these conditions. Special Access gives you the option to make the quiz available for only a select group of students or change due dates depending on the student.2. Timing & Display: Here you can set a time limit for how long a student can work on the quiz. The other options mainly include the ways in which the questions are displayed to the student. In the drop-down menu below Paging it is possible to choose how many questions should be shown per page when the student makes the quiz.3. Attempts & Completion: here you can set how many attempts a student is allowed to make. It is also possible to choose which attempt actually counts towards their grade. In the drop-down menu under ‘Category’ you can choose to create a new quiz category. When you choose ‘New category’, you can give it a name in the next screen.4. Evaluation & Feedback: here it is possible to install how the grade or feedback is displayed to the student. In the drop-down menu under ‘and’, you can choose whether to show all questions that the student answered, or only the questions that were answered incorrectly. You can also choose if you want to show the correct answers to the questions as well. Finally, don’t forget to click ‘Save and Close’ at the bottom of the page!
