In this article will be explained how to submit a video-assignment using MS Stream.

Uploading a video in Microsoft Stream 

Navigate to the Microsoft Stream start page. The homepage looks as follows:Click on the ‘Upload’ button at the top of the page (see image below) and choose the video file you want to upload. Then, choose the location where the file should be saved.Change the file name, description and other details if you want by navigating to the video location on MS Stream. The image below shows the screen where you can edit the details of your video.

Create a Link to the video  

At the top right of the page the button ‘Share’ is displayed. Click on the button, and then click on ‘Copy Link’.A pop-up will appear to confirm that the link has been copied. Click on ‘Settings’ to check who can access the video with the link.Another pop-up will appear (see picture below). Now you can choose which people have access. Often, it is fine to give access to all people at Utrecht University. However, you could choose specific people as well. Furthermore, you can set if the people with the link can only view, but not download the file, only view the file or can edit the file. Click on ‘Apply’.

Using a Microsoft Link to submit the assignment.  

First, navigate to the assignment you need to hand in a video for, by, for example, using the menu bar (Tools > Assignments) and then choosing the right assignment. Add the link by scrolling down and clicking on the link icon, see below.A pop-up screen will show. Choose ‘Link’.You will now be able to add the link in the text box named Link* with the copied link from MS Stream. What you type in the text box will be the text with the link paired to it. Without text, you will see the full link as text in your Assignment. Then, click on ‘Insert’ so it will be added to your assignment.You can then add other comments in the text box of your assignment, check if the link works and then hand in your assignment by clicking on ‘Submit’.
