The Visual Table of Contents is a widget on the homepage of all the courses in Brightspace. It makes the course content accessible in multiple ways. To find it, navigate to the course homepage and scroll down.

Functionality 

• Click on the ‘i’ to see (the first part of) the description of the Unit.
• Click on the title or the image to navigate to the top level of the Unit.
• Click on the arrows to go to the part of the Unit where you left off. If there is a check mark, you have visited all the lessons.
• The widget can be closed on the homepage by clicking on the arrow next to Content Overview and clicking ‘Collapse this widget’.

Changing the image 

Unit images can be customised to your liking. You can set a different image for each Unit.  To do this, insert the image in the Description of the Unit with ‘Insert Image’. The first image Brightspace sees within the description will be visible on the homepage. Make sure to use images with a ratio of at least 768 x 20.
